Cathy Shin, MD, joined the Institute for Maternal-Fetal Health in 2011. She has practiced at the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles since 2006. Dr. Shin is a general pediatric surgeon certified by both the American Board of Surgery and Pediatric Surgery and the American Board of Surgery.
Dr. Shin attended medical school at George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington DC. After earning her medical degree, she completed an internship and a residency in general surgery at the University of Chicago Medical Center. She then began to specialize in pediatrics by completing a residency in pediatric general surgery at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles and a fellowship at Children's Hospital of Cincinnati.
Dr. Shin is a member of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has numbers publications which focus on pediatric surgery.
